TIPS FROM OUR EXPERTS:

INVENTORY, INVESTIGATE & PLAN PRIOR TO CLOSING

As much as we'd like to deny it, pool closing isn't too far off for the season. Before you close, it's important to take a few moments to do an investigation and inventory to prepare for next year’s season.

We always think we’ll remember the things we need to upgrade, replace and repair the next year, but sometimes, our memories fail us! We recommend evaluating your pool now, before you close it, to make a list of what you want/need to do before opening next spring. We've included a list below to get you started!

VINYL LINER

Go around your pool and check your liner for any cracks, tears, fading, staining, stretching and wrinkling. These are signs that your liner is deteriorating and needs to be replaced. We recommend getting on our schedule now for a spring replacement to ensure your pool is ready to open as soon as the weather allows it. If you wait until spring to schedule your replacement, you may experience opening delays because our schedule fills up quickly in the spring.

EQUIPMENT

Take time to evaluate your equipment – including pumps, filters, heaters and cleaners – to determine if any repairs or replacement will be needed before you reopen. If your equipment is nearing its lifespan, consider budgeting for a replacement this spring. By selecting a newer, energy-efficient model, you’ll see energy savings for years to come – often covering the cost of replacement within just a few years.

POOL FEATURES

Is your diving board getting dated? Have your swimmers been requesting a slide? Have you been dreaming of a more modern handrail? Add them to your planning list to ensure you don’t lose sight of these enhancements.

ENVISION YOUR DREAM POOL

Allow yourself to be creative and lofty when planning your pool space. If budget wasn’t a factor, what would you add to your pool? Around your pool? To your patio? Sketch out your vision of what you’d do, and then figure out what’s realistic. You may not be able to add a rock-structure waterfall with cascades, but a smaller water feature may be attainable! Be sure to get your ideas on paper while you’re still using the space, and then prioritize based on budget.
